Dhal Curry

Coconut Milk

Tempering

2 Tbsp

Cooking Oil

1 Tsp

Mustard Seeds

1/2 Tsp

Cumin Seeds

Dried Chilli (Crushed)

Garlic Cloves (Chopped)

Curry Leaves

1 Nos

Onions (Chopped)

Chilli Powder

Rinse the dhal until the water runs clear. Add the dhal into a pot. Add 3 cups of water, chopped onion and green chilli, curry leaves, sliced garlic, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, cumin powder, coriander powder and salt. Bring to a boil. Turn the heat to medium, cover the pot and cook for 15 mins until all the water is absorbed and the dhal is cooked through. Extract Coconut Milk from Yara Fresh Grated Coconut. Add the 1st extract of Coconut Milk and 1 cup of water and stir well. Cover and let it simmer for 5 minutes. Check seasoning and add more salt if needed.

Tempering

In a non-stick pan, heat the oil and add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, curry leaves, and crushed dried red chilli. Cook until the mustard seeds start to splutter. Pour the tempering to the cooked dhal. Serve dhal with rice, roti or dosa.
